Vegan Gluten free & Nut free Bliss Balls

Do you have school aged children that attend school or homeschooling that need to adhere to strict dietary requirements? My chocolatey vegan bliss balls are nut free, gluten free and absolutely delicious, easy to make at a pinch and they get eaten by my fussy kids.

Ingredients

14 servings

  • 3–4 Tablespoons of seed butter (I like using sunflower butter)

  • 20g Cocao Powder

  • 1 tsp of hemp seeds

  • 1 tsp of chia seeds

  • 40g Unsweetened Coconut Flakes (divided)

  • 145g Pitted Dates (soaked and drained so they are warm not hard and cold)

  • 20ml Coconut Oil

  • 20g Raw maple syrup (can use honey if you don’t want these to be vegan or omit if you are trying to reduce sugar intake)

Optional:

  • Add 3/4 cup of rolled oats but then they won’t be gluten free and the texture changes slightly.

Method:

Combine the seed butter, cocoa powder, hemp seeds, chia seeds and half of the shredded coconut together in a food processor (I use a Thermomix, but you don’t need to have one). Process into a fine powder.

  1. Add in the soaked dates, coconut oil and maple syrup. Pulse until a dough-like consistency forms (you can add oats in here if you choose to not make it gluten free)

  2. Roll batter into small bite-sized balls. Then roll balls through a bowl with the remaining coconut flakes to coat.

  3. Pop them in the fridge.

They store for a few weeks in an airtight container but they are so delicious that they probably won’t last a week!
